A unique property now offered for sale...A Stately Home or a Fantastic Venue...Many Opportunities! This beautiful Southern Gem, built in the early 1900's under the vision and leadership of Mr. Benjamin D. Riegel, is known as the Lodge. Mr. Riegel, a New York businessman, purchased the Trion Factory (today Mount Vernon Mills) and had a keen business sense and prosperous vision for Trion, Georgia during that era of time. This lovely property has served as a lodging facility for Mount Vernon Mills' constituents and employees from other areas of the country since its origination. Today...this property continues to serve the same purpose. This Southern Beauty is privately tucked in the corner of the Trion Golf Course and sits on 13+ acres along the Chattooga River. It boasts a total of 6 rooms for overnight stay, 7 baths, a large gathering room, dining room, billiard room, kitchen & prep center, laundry center, and mechanical room. Also, with moderate restoration, the lower terrace offers 2 additional rooms for overnight stay with 1 bath...Outdoors you will find a flagstone front porch that wraps to the right leading into the gathering room, dining room, or billiard room. Also, a nice feature on the backside is the gathering porch with a woodburning fireplace. A guest house offering 2 bedrooms is also offered with this property as well. The grounds offer much Southern charm with mature holly bushes framing the landscape that offers an abundance of boxwoods, heirloom azaleas, nandinas, mature crepe myrtles, mountain laurel, gardenias, oak trees and more...with a private pond in back!
