Atlanta Country Club Information
I'll admit it: I'm biased. I grew up in Atlanta Country Club and consider my experiences in the neighborhood to be amongst my most idyllic and enjoyable memories of my childhood. Nonetheless, I'd like to boast about some of the neighborhood's many features and quirks.
First, let's clear up any confusion. Despite being named "Atlanta Country Club", the community is not located within the City of Atlanta. In fact, it's located within Cobb County, a fact that residents love considering property taxes are half of those "Inside the Perimeter". Additionally, residents love the fact that Atlanta Country Club residents have access to the "trifecta" of top-rated Cobb County public schools: Sope Creek, Dickerson, and Walton.
The main entrance of the community is off of Paper Mill Road, which is one of the most recognizable and prestigious streets in Atlanta due to its impressive estates. Being in such close proximity to some of the most expensive homes in the Southern United States immediately sets a positive tone before residents enter Atlanta Country Club.
Now, let's begin talking about the composition of homes within the neighborhood itself. The wide variety of architectural styles present within Atlanta Country Club is truly incredible, but perhaps the neighborhood is best known for its grandiose Georgian and European estates. The neighborhood doesn't feel "cookie-cutter" at all, as many planned urban developments do. Homes also feature generous front lots, which results in the neighborhood exuding a very luxurious aesthetic. There is a diverse collection of custom homes and the community truly has a distinct identity, it cannot possibly be mistaken for another community. Additionally, most of the older homes have been since been rebuilt; it's rare to find homes in the community built before 1980.
Perhaps the most noteworthy feature of the entire neighborhood is its private golf course. The course has hosted a number of golf countries over the years, such as the PGA Tour for a total of 29 years and the inaugural Tournament Players Championship in 1974. The course has been played by some of the most skilled golfers in history, such as Jack Nicklaus and John Daly.
Residents of Atlanta Country Club has a very strong sense of community and pride in their neighborhood. There are a plethora of social clubs and community events throughout the year. Considering the community consists of hundreds of homes, the community hosts people of all ages and backgrounds. As a resident, I made many lasting friendships in the community which I still maintain today.
All in all, it's a fact that Atlanta Country Club remains the most prestigious country club in East Cobb. Those looking for a home in one of the most well-kept and tight-knit neighborhoods in metro Atlanta will find Atlanta Country Club to be an excellent option.
